Season starts on shortened track
The 2019 horse tram season has started today, albeit on a greatly shortened track for now.
Currently about 500m long, it is set to be lengthened bit by bit as work on Douglas promenade continues.
Transport Projects Manager Ian Longworth says it was vital to get the trams up and running in some capacity as soon as possible, as they are often part of heritage transport packages which visiting enthusiasts have come over for:
Planning application for onshore wind farm still being developed
Motorcyclist suffered fatal chest injuries in crash
Trial for trio accused of producing Class A drugs to Island
Too early for 'direct action' over cost-of-living concerns says chief minister
