Minister says rails could be relocated to a more covered site
The Department of Infrastructure says it has enough tracks to complete the horse tramway on Douglas promenade, but the rails are corroding while in storage.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall confirmed the rails are being stored at the rail bending yard on South Quay in Douglas.
He says the marine environment has resulted in some corrosion, which will require grinding before they can be installed, but they are still usable.
Talks are currently underway to relocate the tracks elsewhere:
