Demolition of former hotel site is underway
The owner of the Castletown Golf Links Hotel says he wants to produce a building on the site that 'speaks of greatness'.
After buying the building from developer, Dandara, Philip Vermeulen is now overseeing its demolition.
But what exactly will go in its place is still being decided, but Mr Vermeulen says he favours a 5-star hotel of between 30 and 35 bedrooms which will 'complement its surroundings'.
"We've got to polish this diamond so that when people walk in here they walk into greatness!" - Philip Vermeulen.
It's understood Mr Vermeulen has plans to submit an application for the new development later this year.
