New southern hub pending planning permission
Planning permission is being sought to accommodate the Isle of Man Foodbank’s southern hub at the commissioners’ offices in Port Erin.
Demand for the service is increasing and the space the charity previously occupied, at the Methodist church, has now been deemed too small.
Godfrey Egee is the chair of the local authority.
He says it's 'disconcerting' that foodbanks need to exist in the first place and is hopeful the new government will work to address the problem:
