Flat excise of £2.20 being added to 10ml of liquid
It's hoped the UK's new Vaping Products Duty won't be 'too dramatic' for customers on the Isle of Man.
From today (1 October) a flat excise tax of £2.20 is being added to each 10ml of liquid.
It applies to all products whether they contain nicotine or not.
However there could be different prices at different retailers for the next few months during a 'grace period' whilst the tax is introduced.
Hannah McGaw is from Totally Wicked IOM, an e-cigarette retailer in Douglas and Ramsey:
Today also marks the start of Stoptober - an awareness month where people who smoke are encouraged to quit.
Vaping is often used by people as an alternative to smoking when they're trying to quit.
So could this rise see more people return to smoking?
Well, on the Isle of Man, the 'Stop Smoking Team' now also provides support to help people quit all nicotine products and not just smoking.
Susie Saunders and Rachel Palmer work in the team:
