
Hop tu Naa is upon us – and there are plenty of Manx traditions to follow if you’re not a fan of trick and treat.
The Manx version of Halloween still marks the time when this world and the next were thought to be at their closest, and people thought they needed lanterns to cross over into the spirit world.
On the Island, turnips were the lanterns of choice for children - although in recent years pumpkins have been taking over.
