Long-closed pub also previously converted into house

A planning application has been submitted to build two semi-detached dwellings on the former car park of The New Inn in Laxey.

The site, on New Road, includes the former public house which is now used as a residential home under a change of use approved in 2021.

A new proposal would retain the existing building and use the former car park area for the development.

According to the planning statement the houses would be traditional in design to the street scene and more contemporary to the rear, with inverted living accommodation and private terraces.

The application states that vehicles would use the existing access that has served the site for many years and that six on-site car parking spaces would be provided, two per dwelling.
