Island residents targeted
There's a warning from police about bogus telephone calls targeting Island residents.
Someone claiming to be from HMRC has been threatening people, saying they've been sentenced and will serve time in jail, unless they pay their fine immediately.
You're urged to not pass on any personal or bank details, and terminate the call immediately.
You're also asked to report anything suspicious to ActionFraud, which collates details on scams like this.
