Granddaughter of TT winner to show-off famous machine
The bike which won the 1923 Senior TT will be displayed on Sunday (25 August) to raise awareness of bowel cancer.
It was ridden by Manxman Tom Sheard and recorded an average speed of just 55.55mph.
In 1922 he became the first Manxman to win a TT race with victory in the Junior.
Ruth Cowin is Tom’s granddaughter.
Her son Daniel died shortly after this year's TT from the disease at the age of 40.
Ruth told Manx Radio she hopes that displaying the 1923 machine can help raise awareness of the disease:
The bike will be on display from 10.30am-3pm on Sunday (25th August) at IOM Trike Tours on Castlemona Avenue in Douglas.
