Historian calls for more funding to finish Laxey Wheel restoration

But Treasury says MNH hasn't made approach

More taxpayers' money is needed to finish the restoration of the Great Laxey Wheel.

That’s the view of the chairman of the Isle of Man Victorian Society.

He’s called on Treasury to fund the remainder of the work needed on the wheel.

Charles Guard says the project ‘got off to a good start’ but needs completing:

The treasury minister has told Manx Radio that Manx National Heritage – which is responsible for the wheel – has not made an approach for more money.
