Treasury minister says healthcare levy 'far more complicated' than he thought
The two percent increase in the higher rate of income tax 'probably won't be removed' in the next Budget.
In February, the treasury minister said the rise would be 'temporary' while a new healthcare levy was created.
The money from the increase has been ring-fenced for Manx Care.
But Dr Alex Allinson says introducing the levy has been a challenge:
"When you're delivering healthcare on an island, your costs are going to be higher"
