A yellow weather warning for snow and sleet remains in place until 9am
The Mountain Road is closed due to heavy snow.
The police say it's due to extremely poor conditions which could pose a 'serious road safety issue'.
It's expected to be shut until 4.30pm.
The Department of Infrastructure will review the necessity for the closure throughout the day.
