The building of a third runway at Heathrow may offer scope for an Isle of Man link to be restored - but not for at least a decade.
That view from Island pressure group TravelWatch, following news Heathrow airport rather than Gatwick, is to expand.
A report to the British government earlier this year recommending that option, raised hopes more domestic routes from places like the Isle of Man could be secured at Heathrow.
TravelWatch says as well as benefiting passengers, expansion at the London hub could help boost the Island's economy.
However, Mr Liddiard says assuming the decision is ultimately backed by the UK Government, any changes to Manx air travel are still a long way off
