29-0 vote in favour of Sir Jonathan Michael report
The Independent Health and Social Care Review final report by Sir Jonathan Michael has been passed unanimously by Tynwald.
A motion, tabled by Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan, asked Tynwald to receive the report, and accept the 26 recommendations included within, requiring the Council of Ministers to implement them.
Many members stood to give their views on the report and its findings, with the debate spanning almost four hours.
The House of Keys voted 21-0 in favour, and the Legislative Council voted 8-0 in favour.
Missing from the sitting were Tanya August Hansen MLC and MHKs Rob Callister, Julie Edge and Martyn Perkins.
