Warm tributes have been made to the 94 year old - described as being 'as Manx as you can get, without being Manx' - who died on Thursday.
Harvey Briggs' regular newspaper column about Manx farming and country matters was closely followed by many in the community, over several decades.
Harvey was also respected for his community involvement, serving as Captain of the Parish of Onchan.
