140th anniversary events this weekend
An iconic feature of the Island’s heritage will be commemorated today (Saturday).
It’s the 140th anniversary of the horse trams with a weekend of events scheduled.
There will be a service every 15-minutes along Douglas Promenade between 9am this morning and 6pm.
A guided tour of the stables takes place at midday, you can book at Derby Castle, while a pop-up gift shop has been specially created and will be open from 12.30pm until 4pm.
There will also be a special service running along the length of the promenade every 20-minutes between 6pm and 9pm this evening.
