TV show reveals grandfather fought for Axis
Roadracing star Guy Martin’s next TV show will look into his family’s history – featuring his grandfather who fought for the Nazis in World War Two.
It follows Guy’s family history back to Latvia, tracing his grandfather, Walter Kidals, who was conscripted by the Germans in 1941.
Guy’s research uncovers his ancestor’s two years in a prisoner-of-war camp and his arrival in Hull as a refugee in 1947.
Our Guy in Latvia will be shown on Channel 4 Monday starting at 9pm.
