33-year-old turned up at her home with a knife
A Douglas man who sent his ex-partner a message saying he wanted to hurt her – before turning up at her house with a knife – will be sentenced in December.
Nathan Issac Holliday, of Clifton Terrace, sent the woman a series of abusive voice messages over WhatsApp in the early hours of 4 November.
The 33-year-old made threats including: “I want to smash your face in” and “I’m going to hurt you” – later that day he went to her property with a Stanley knife and began making further threats.
Holliday later admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and sending offensive messages.
At Douglas Courthouse a probation officer told the court Holliday was ‘clearly a man who struggles with his relationship with alcohol’ adding: “He accepts he has acted in an appalling way.”
A social enquiry report has been requested before Holliday is sentenced on 20 December – he’s been bailed until that date.
