Groudle Glen Railway reopens for 125th anniversary year

Summer season in Groudle gets underway

Groudle Glen Railway is welcoming back visitors today (2 May), while marking its 125th anniversary year.

It's after plans to reopen for the Easter Bunny Trains were disrupted by Covid restrictions.

From 11am, punters will be able to travel on the railway and visit the clifftop tearooms.

The railway will also be open tomorrow (3 May).

It marks the beginning of the summer season in Groudle, with the line operating every Sunday between 11am and 4:30pm, as well as Wednesday evenings over mid-June to August.

Official celebrations of the 125th aniversary take place on 23 May with a day of celebration planned, featuring the line’s original 1896 steam locomotive Sea Lion.
