Juan Turner MLC says it needs attention
Groudle Glen is run down, shoddy and an embarrassment - according to Juan Turner MLC.
He was speaking in Tynwald yesterday as the state of the Glen and in particular the waterwheel came in for close scrutiny.
It followed a question from Garff MHK Daphne Caine - she said the waterwheel building was currently unsightly and unsafe and fenced off from the public footpath.
DEFA Minister Geoffrey Boot admitted he hadn't been to the Glen recently and questioned whether the building was a priority.
He stated that Onchan Commissioners - which owns the building - had yet to make a statement on its future.
Onchan MHK Rob Callister suggested that Mr Boot's department had a responsibility for the upkeep of the waterwheel - something he disputed:
