New jobs mean greater participation
The Infrastructure Minister says giving greater powers to local authorities will improve representation both ways.
Phil Gawne has been speaking ahead of next month's local authority elections.
He believes that passing departmental duties such as street repairs and hedge maintenance to Commissioners offices will generate more interest in localised politics.
