DoI says it'll be in place by TT 2020
A bridge at the Grandstand, which allows access to the cemetary side of the road, will have to be replaced.
The 36-year-old structure has been closed since an inspection in July.
The Department of Infrastructure says design work is underway on a replacement bridge, which is scheduled to be in place before next year's TT.
In the meantime, the one at St Ninian's is an alternative for anyone who wants to cross the road when it is closed for qualifying and racing.
