Graih pays tribute to man "well-known" to its drop-in

The Manx homeless charity Graih has paid tribute to a man who was found dead in Douglas earlier this year.

The organisation has written of its memories of 43-year-old Spencer Galvin, who it describes as a regular to the service.

The charity says Mr Galvin, who died in April, was well-known to its 'drop-in for a number of years'.

In an article in the Graih Gazette, Mr Galvin is described as a man who had "a quick tongue and a caustic sense of humour".

Author of the article Michael Manning calls his death a tragedy, and says it "highlights the need for support in the community...for more and better resources for mental health services across the board, and for the commitment we need to better serve those whose lives are often vulnerable and chaotic."

Mr Galvin had lived at the Belsfield Hotel, near Church Road Marina where he was found.

An inquest in April heard he had fallen from a height, and there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
