The infrastructure minister says it will cost government a 'significant' sum to back Loganair's flights to Heathrow.
The airline announced services would operate from the Island to the UK capital from December until the end of March next year.
Fares start at £70 one-way, with flights on a 49-seater jet available seven days a week.
