Chief Minister Alfred Cannan discusses speculation over controversial curriculum

The chief minister says government needs to find out 'exactly what went on' in Relationships and Sexual Education classes on the Island.

The curriculum has been paused after concerns from parents around the content involved.

A 'lawyer and a former policeman' have been put in charge of conducting an independent external investigation to look into the concerns.

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture says it will produce a report and highlight any action the department may need to take.

As-yet unverified claims of drag queens conducting lessons, and telling a student to leave the classroom after a 'dispute over the number of genders', have gained international attention, with articles appearing in The Daily Mail, The Telegraph and even the US' Fox News.

Two parents from the Island appeared on GB News with Nigel Farage yesterday to discuss the matter.
