Public asked views on expanding population

A union leader says a consultation now underway on proposals to grow the Manx economy underlines a lack of government foresight.

Amongst others things, the public are being asked their views on how to supply a range of business sectors with suitably qualified people. 

One possibility is to look at loosening work permit restrictions for financial and professional services.

But Prospect leader in the Island Angela Moffatt says the growing skills shortage is something ministers should have seen coming a long time ago.
