Series of events planned over weekend
There's a reception at Government House this evening to start a weekend of celebrations of the centenary of the Royal British Legion.
Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney is the patron of the organisation on the Island.
The Manx Legion was formed on 9 July 1917 and the Isle of Man branches joined the British Legion in 1921.
It gained its Royal Charter and became known as the Royal British Legion in 1971.
A series of events are planned over the weekend ending with a thanksgiving service at St Georges Church in Douglas on Sunday afternoon.
