'Good progress' made on Digital Strategy but more to be done says minister

But MHK claims 'practically nothing' has been achieved so far

More ambition is needed, and more work needs to be done, to accelerate digitisation across the Isle of Man Government.

But the Cabinet Office minister David Ashford has defended the Digital Strategy saying he believes ‘good progress’ has been made.

It was introduced in 2022 to cover the five-year period up to 2027. 

According to government at the time, its purpose was to build a 'digitally secure, vibrant and sustainable platform to enable government departments to deliver digital transformation programmes'. 

In Tynwald this week Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper claimed that ‘practically nothing’ from the strategy been achieved and a number of targets have actually been missed. 

However Mr Ashford maintains making things more efficient is still a key focus:
