
The owners of a landmark hotel on the TT course say the economic downturn, coupled with spiralling energy costs, mean it has to close.
Graham and Mike Priest say the Glen Helen Inn, which employs around 10 people, simply isn’t making enough money to be a viable business and will now be put up for sale.
Graham says all functions which have already been booked will be honoured, and the hotel will open for guests who are booked in for the TT and the Festival of Motorcycling.
But he says power bills in particular meant the venue had to otherwise shut its doors on Monday:
