
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne has moved to reassure a local authority over plans to dispose of silt dredged from Peel Harbour.
Last weekend, DoI workers started preparations to dump silt near Poortown Quarry – sparking the ire of German Commissioners who claimed they were unaware of the plans.
The department needs to give three weeks’ notice before the silt can be dumped, or apply for planning permission.
