Gas tariff increase unlikely says regulatory authority

CURA responds to price rise claims

Concerns over potential gas tariff increases on the Isle of Man have been dismissed by the regulatory authority CURA.

It had been suggested prices could rise to make up a shortfall in profits, after the number of people on payment plans doubled in six months.

But in a statement released on 10 May, CURA says based on current data, no tariff increase is anticipated for the 2024 period.

It goes on to say that while it is impossible to know with certainty what will happen in a month when a review is planned, if it was being conducted today a slight reduction in the tariff might be considered.
