But admits it doesn't address 'broader issue'
The cabinet office says a £58 rebate for gas customers, in the New Year, will be welcomed despite soaring overall costs.
It follows an agreement between Manx Gas and Manx Utilities which will see the energy company pay £700,000 less each year for infrastructure payments.
