Garff MHK pledges to make stopping windfarm 'number one' priority

New faces Henthorn and Hewison elected as MHKs

A newly elected Garff MHK says his first priority will be to stop offshore windfarm proposals on the east coast.

Richard Henthorn topped the poll in the constituency with 1167 votes.

A fierce critic of the project Mr Henthorn says it is ‘number one’ on his list and he isn’t afraid to speak-out publicly about it.

That’s despite advice issued by the Attorney General’s Chambers advising candidates not to take a position on it.

Mr Henthorn will be joined in the constituency by Vicki Hewison who secured 968 votes.

She says she believes she found favour with the electorate because she’s ‘not afraid to say no’.

Garff was the last constituency to declare results in the 2026 Manx General Election:

Education, Sport and Culture Minister Daphne Caine, who represented Garff for the last 10 years, lost her seat after polling in sixth place.
