Local Authority says replacements can cost up to £800
Garff Commissioners is introducing a street lighting replacement scheme over the next five years.
The local authority says five or six of its lights will fail every year and can cost up to £800 to fix.
It adds there will be a 'small' impact on the rates over the next few years but will ensure the commissioners are being 'proactive' because LED versions will need replacing 'less' often.
Commissioner Jamie Smith says the new lights will provide benefits to the community and the environment.
