Garff Commissioners encouraging people to join Baldrine Hall volunteer group

The local authority held a public meeting about the future of the building

Garff Commissioners is encouraging residents to join a Baldrine Hall volunteer group in an effort to keep it within the community. 

Commissioner James Hewison says ideally the board would like younger people from across the parish to join the new committee. 

It was confirmed at a public meeting at the end of August that the church had closed the building in Lonan and it would be going up for sale later in the year. 

Now the building has closed, the parish has no community spaces left for residents to use.

Mr Hewison says there will be a number of 'hurdles' to overcome including the potential purchasing of the building.
