Tickets purchased for today will be valid on any other day

A replica of a historic Spanish ship has arrived in Manx waters.

The Galeón Andalucía is a model of a 16th-17th century galleon which were large, multi-decked sailing vessels from Spain and Portugal.

It now serves as a floating museum, showcasing Andalusian maritime heritage and the history of these ships that connected continents.

The ship is known for its historical accuracy and its ability to sail and participate in major international festivals and events.

It's the first time the vessel has visited the Island, and it's docked in Douglas Harbour for visitors to explore until Monday 7 July.

TIDAL ISSUES

However, Douglas City Centre Management has confirmed it won't be open today.

It says: "Due to tidal conditions and for the safety of all visitors, the Galeón Andalucía will remain closed today."

It has confirmed tickets purchased for today will be valid any other day of the ship's visit.
