Political stalemate over Commission chair role
There's a further delay to the political progress of the Communication Bill 2018.
The bill was due to be debated in the Legislative Council today, but the Council of Ministers requested this be deferred until March 2020.
After some discussion, it was decided to leave the matter until next year.
The branches are at loggerheads over the role of the chair of the Communications Commission.
LegCo wants a non-political lead, but the House of Keys rejected this amendment earlier this month by 13 votes to 10.
