
The funeral of one of the key figures of Manx politics will be held this morning (Thurs)
Dr Edgar Mann was chairman of the Executive Council – the forerunner to the Council of Ministers - and Education Minister during a political career which spanned more than 20 years.
He passed away last month at the age of 86, leaving a wife Joan, seven children and 16 grandchildren.
He was recently described by House of Keys Speaker Steve Rodan as a family man with a keen interest in all aspects of Island life.
The funeral service will be held at Lonan Parish Church at 11 o’clock.
