New interim policy agreed with NICE
Cancer patients on the Isle of Man will receive access to new treatments on the same terms as English patients thanks to a new interim funding policy.
The Department of Health and Social Care will fund new drugs once approved by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, and routine circulation begins within NHS England.
It could mean that people here can start receiving treatments earlier because they're not having to encounter additional administrative hurdles here on Island.
It's expected the policy will be reviewed in June 2018.
