The full cost of the Douglas East by-election fraud trial still isn't known.
Middle MHK Howard Quayle had a question for the Treasury Minister in the Keys this morning in which he wanted to know the cost to public funds, including those of Manx advocates, Legal Aid, the Attorney General's chambers and hiring lawyers from the United Kingdom.
Eddie Teare said whilst the trial had been completed, appeals against conviction have been launched which will lead to additional costs and the final bill will be considerably higher than the current figure which amounts to some £874,000.
