Charity places six absorption tubes around the capital
Isle of Man Friends of the Earth is hopeful after government's promise to look into the possibility of testing the capital's nitrogen dioxide levels.
Recently, the charity placed six 'absorption tubes' around Douglas for a fortnight; at worst, recording 42 micrograms per cubic meter at Quarterbridge.
Minister for Environment, Geoffrey Boot, disputes the findings, but agreed to test Douglas' rate against the lower European 40 microgram limit.
The last reading was taken in 2009.
