Fresh calls for more MGP and Classic TT marshals

Officials say assistance especially needed for first few sessions

With less than a week to go until the 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT there's an appeal for more marshals. 

Isle of Man TT Marshals is on the lookout for both new and experienced volunteers to make sure practice and race sessions can go ahead.

Whilst numbers are slightly up on this time last year more assistance is still needed for the opening day this Sunday (16 August) as well as for contingency sessions.

Director Laura Sawyer says it's an ongoing challenge to recruit and retain personnel but also to debunk certain perceptions of what the job entails:

Alternatively people can visit the Isle of Man TT Marshals marquee behind the TT Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas.

The marquee is currently open daily between 9am and 6pm and will be open from 8am on race days during the event.

The 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT will run alongside each other for a near two-week period from Sunday, 16 August to Friday, 28 August.
