
The chief minister says he plans to introduce a freedom of information bill to the branches of Tynwald by December 31.
Allan Bell today told Tynwald progress updates would be given quarterly, with the first one due at the end of this month.
Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan wanted to know if the legislation would address, to modern standards, the exclusions and redaction of information, which in some jurisdictions makes it effectively useless.
Mr Bell said the legislation would not lead to complete openness:
