Former MHK and MLC served in Island's parliament for almost 40 years
Former Tynwald member Eddie Lowey has died at the age of 86.
Mr Lowey served in the Island's parliament for almost 40 years before retiring in 2013, both as MHK for Rushen and a Member of the Legislative Council.
His political career saw him hold the roles of Minister of Home Affairs between 1986 and 1991, as well as Minister of Industry from 1992 to 1996, while in his final years as an MLC he served as chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority.
Away from politics, Mr Lowey was known for his love of football, with Malew AFC having led the tributes to him.
The team described him as a club legend, and someone who'd covered nearly every role within the club for over half a century.
They add: "Eddie's generosity to the club and local community was unmatched and he will be a huge loss to the village where he would always take time to speak to everyone."
