MHK praises public engagement with planning
An MHK says the high level of public interest in developing a former Royal Air Force camp in the north of the Island has been encouraging.
Built in 1939, the 25-acre site in Jurby was used by the UK military to defend both Liverpool and Belfast from attacks during the second world war.
This summer, the Department of Infrastructure invited proposals for redeveloping the camp, and a wide range of ideas were submitted.
These ranged from artisan workshops and business premises, to sports and recreational facilities
Infrastructure member Julie Edge hinted the site could act as a "catalyst for the north":
