Former pupil becomes new head teacher at Buchan

A former Buchan pupil has become the school's new head teacher.

Jane Corlett attended the Buchan before continuing her studies at the University of Manchester, and later completed her teacher training in Liverpool.

For the last 15 years, she's held the position of Vice Principal at King William's College.

Outside of school life, Miss Corlett is a keen motorcycle rider and a former street circuit cart racer, as well as a community volunteer with the Isle of Man Constabulary.

She replaces Alison Hedley who has taken up a new role as Senior Inspector of Schools in Dubai.
