Former minister apologises over Friary Park homes issue

A former infrastructure minister has apologised to residents of Friary Park in Ballabeg, over issues they've had with their properties.

In recent newspaper articles it was claimed the 1970s-built Cambar-Mantis houses were nearing the end of their life, and banks were reluctant to lend on them.

This has led to property prices on the estate being devalued by anything up to 30%.

A working party set up in the wake of that has found the houses are of sound build quality, but some residents have said it's too little, too late.
