Kate Beecroft says Endoscopy issue operational and political
The former Health Minister has defended her actions regarding the moving of Endoscopy services to Nobles hospital.
Kate Beecroft was speaking in Tynwald this morning (16 May) in a debate on recommendations contained in a report of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee on the move.
Mrs Beecroft said she took any criticisms "on the chin" and apologised for errors in communication - which she said left her disappointed in herself - though lessons had been learnt.
But she said the issue was both political and operational and she was critical of the lack of support from her Chief Executive, Dr Malcolm Couch, ahead of a meeting in Ramsey to discuss the move.
The report and recommendations were eventually received by the court with only one minor amendment.
