As more dog attacks on livestock are reported in the Manx countryside, a northern farmer says such incidents are 'deeply distressing' and can be extremely disruptive.
Almost a year ago, Paul Fletcher's flock was chased for three hours by a dog which would not return to its owner.
He says the behaviour of the entire, terrified flock abruptly changed:
The Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture says plans to update laws to help farmers protect their livestock from dog attacks has not been shelved, however admitted resources have been 'a challenge'.
