Talks continue on length of scallop season
Creating a sustainable fishery for the long-term while maintaining the livelihoods of fishermen and women.
That’s the ultimate aim of the Queenie Management board as talks continue to decide whether the local scallop fishing season is cut short for a second successive year.
Fishing in Manx waters could be temporarily suspended to allow stocks to recover and the board is working with DEFA officials to ensure the long-term survival of the fishery.
